Wild dogs are gregarious animals and sometimes form packs of up to 40 individuals. Their method of hunting is to run tirelessly after their prey until it is too exhausted to continue or is brought down by a bite to the groin. Larger prey can be attacked and be disembowelled or have pieces of flesh torn off while still running.
